These pictures were taken in the spring and summer of 1918, most of them by Cecil Abrahams, who was killed in action over France on 26th September 1918, six weeks before the Armistice. They were found pasted into an autograph album kept by his widow. Many of the original photos are extremely faded; this album is the result of months of painstaking work to restore them to a condition in which they can be shared.
