in Cochrane, Alberta, Canada. My interest is takes off from III C 4 William TREMBATH b. abt 1786, m. 07-Oct-1815, St. Merryn, Cornwall, Mary Brenton. He, his children and three grandchildren arrived in Canada and settled at Cobourg, Ontario in 1849. They changed their name on arrival to TRENBETH. I am now in the process of researching this string in Canada and the U.S.A.

Charles Trenbath

related to William Trembath born abt 1786 and married in St. Merryn in 1815. Emigrated to Ontario in 1850 see main St Wenn line.

A GOONS member, number 2820 and I found a TREMBATH - SINKER connection which I thought might be of use to you.Ronnie Mensch posted a site for the Canadian Legion Magazine which listed the death of Delbert SINKER in 2005. He lived in Dryden, Ontario. I didn't know if he has any children but found a website for Dryden High School and it looks like he had at least two daughters:KAMM, Debbie (1973) Sinker Ontario Delbert_98@yahoo.com TREMBATH , Denice (1975) Sinker Ontario trembath@tbaytel.net I also found this message from Denice in the high school guestbook
on that website:Visitor's Name: Denice Trembath (Sinker)
Homepage URL: http://
You are from: Thunder Bay
Comments: Hi everyone in Dryden! I have been in Thunder Bay since 1987. When I first moved to Thunder Bay I worked for a company call A.W. Chesterton as the Office Manager. In 1995 I went to London, Ontario and got my Ontario Real Estate Licence. I started selling Real Estate in Thunder Bay with Clara Real Estate and in September of 1999 Romeo Clara decided to retire and now I am with Royal Lepage Lannon Realty. In December of 1991 I met my husband (Tom) through Big Brothers/Big Sisters and we were married in July of 1996. Tom works for Ontrac - formerly Woodland Tractor and sells Forestry Equipment. When we are not busy working we enjoy travelling to the sun, cross country skiing, golfing and camping. I think this was a great idea and am enjoying hearing from former class mates.

Annette Pope (Nov 11)
My gtgrandad was Jack Trenbath and he lived in Australia, I think SA and NSW, not sure. He married Mavis "Emma" (unknown last name) in NZ who later developed spondilitis and was hospitalised for the remainder of her life. From what I could gather, though I can't confirm this, Jack left Emma and moved to Australia. In 1935 Emma is listed as married, their daughter Mavis Dawn was born in 1932. In 1954 Emma was in hospital, I think this was either the beginning or advancement of her spondalitis. In 1957 Emma is listed as "widow", yet I know she wasn't as Jack had two other daughters with another woman. I don't know if he left Emma in hospital, or if they divorced, though I can't find any paperwork on that so far. I would really appreciate any help you could give me, as this has been a very difficult link to research.

Lynne Fraser (Sept 06)

My grandmother Mary/Minnie used to write to her friends and family back in Cornwall. I think they exchanged cards and handkerchiefs as a rule.

My father, Ernest Leslie (Pat) Trembath died August 8 and we are going to Manitoba to attend his funeral on September 14. He would have been 97 on
August 24th... his older brother Cecil died May 29th and would have been 100 on his birthday June 11, 2006. The family of 5 boys have now all gone.

I have been following Cornish-L/D for years and was in Cornwall in 2003 and visited the Trembath farm and mill and saw the Trembath post on the road
just outside of Penzance. Is there a tie-in to the St. Colomb Trembaths?
I am so glad to hear Mike Trembath is still around and I was briefly in touch with her long ago, but as I recall there was no reply to my last
email - and since I was then working - I did not pursue it.

My Trembath's descend from Madron Trembath & Mary Gilbert in the early 1600's.
My Trembath ancestors lived in Morvah, Cornwall right down to John Trembath & Mary Grenfeild who were in St Just, Penwith, Cornwall.
Do you have any of those places linked with your Trembath's?

I know very little about the name, but apparently it derrives from a certain locality, and names such as Trenbath are a different area and not related.

There is a Trembath genealogical society in Australia, quite a lot of Trembath descendants live here. One of its members, Brian Brewer bjbrewer@dcsi.net.au sent me a lot of pages of the Madron Trembath descendants, could be worth giving him an email and seeing if he knows of any connection to your lot.

Here's my website if you want to have a look at my trembath page.

I'm looking for the descendants of John Trembath. He and my Grandfather William Thomas Trembath moved to Michigan from Vermont and were miners in Bad Axe. When the mine closed my grandfather went to Rossland B.C. Canada and John moved his family to the Detroit area. Jan Snook

I have been researching my husband's family tree, the SNOOKs from Tisbury, Wiltshire. I have found that his Grandfather a Frederick George Snook, son of John Snook & Ann Mary Scammell marry a BESSIE TREMBATH in 1899 in Brentford. Frederick had been living with his Grandparents, (themselves having moved up from the Tisbury area ) George & Eliza Scammell for some time. The 1901 census has Bessie aged 29 listing Berreppa, Cornwall as her Birthplace. I can only presume she was living up that way for work, to have met and married Frederick, seems a long way from Cornwall. I was hoping that you may have some information on the Trembaths from that area, or maybe know someone that can help.

The Trenbeath branch of the above family tree began working on a family webpage during Thanksgiving. We would like permission to include a link to your THE TREMBATH / TREMBEATH FAMILY TREE and, if possible, permission to copy this section to our website, expanding our little branch as we gather information. My husband’s grandfather was William Trenbeath of Neche. We hope to use that as a starting point for expanding the work you have already gathered. William has six boys, most of whom also had good sized families. We would be happy to send you a copy of whatever we are able to put together.

Romsey, Hants, UK - Researching TRENBATH, as a One Name Study . includes inscriptions of Birth, Marriage and Death indexes for Trenbath. Also for some TreMbaths up to 1860. Included on the site are the descendants of William Trenbath, who was born in 1726 - probably in Cornwall (?St Gluvias), but it could have been London. He was agent to Joseph Damer, later Baron Milton of Milton Abbas, Dorset, and married Ann DRIVER (NOT Ann Damer, as in some circulating charts) in Ubbeston, SFK, in 1748. Later he was a Salt Officer at Northwich, Cheshire.see my GEDCOM file

Pam (Jewell) Harvey

I know from speaking with my father that my great grandfather was William Thomas Trembath who married Elizabeth in the early 1890 era. They had six children (not sure if the children were born in Penzance or the United States.) and at one time lived in Penzance England. They moved to Ironwood Michigan where many of them worked in the mines. Their six children were Melvin Trembath, Irving Trembath, Bert Trembath, Elsie Mae (Trembath) Jewell, Hazel Trembath and Margorie Trembath. Many of the children moved to Canada where my father was later born in 1926. If anyone might have any further information, that would be great as I would like to find some of my ancestory as when my father passes on the information will be gone.

James Richards

My grandfather William Trembath Richards died in a mining area, Clifton, Arizona in 1914. He came to America from Camborne or Redruth in the late 1890's we think, through Canada. His father may have been James and he came with William, Mary and possibly a Henry. We have heard that he was born on Green Street in about 1861 or 1862 I understand there is a Green Street in Redruth. Obviously there was a Trembath connection. Trembath may have been William's mother’s name.

Richard Edwin TREMBATH married a cousin of mine, [Evelyn] Mary CLARE: she was born in 1909. I believe their children were Elizabeth Clare TREMBATH and Helen Mary TREMBATH, and there may also have been a Timothy Richard TREMBATH. Richard Edwin may have come from Cape Town, South Africa; latterly the family were in Pangbourne, Berkshire. Any information about these folk ... ancestors or descendants ... would be of great interest. ------------------ Thanks and best wishes
