1. Luke TOOLE b.1850, Dublin, Ireland, occupation Dray driver, m. 04-Sept-1881, in St. Marks Church of England , Regents Park, London, Sarah CHEEDY (CHEDGY )b. abt 1852, Clandown in Somerset, (daughter of John CHEEDY a miner )baptised on 7th March 1852 in Clandown. Her father was John Chedgy, Collier (born 1820 bap. 18/6/1820) and her mother, Mary Riddle SAGE (b1815 in Kilmersdon Somerset) . She had brothers and sisters and step brothers and sisters. Her father married three times and died in Wells Asylum in February 1866. He was buried on 12th February 1866. Her mother was first married to Joseph Sage (b. 1810) They had 8 children. Then as a widow she married John Chedgy also a widower on 24/4/1848. They had 4 children. After her death in December 1860 (buried 17/12/1860) John Chedgy married their servant Elizabeth Bray (b 1825) on 31/8/1863.

Sarah's occupation Cook, d. abt 1917. Luke died 17-Sep-1892, (have death cert) Chelsea, London. In service in Chelsea, London, to Lord and Lady FitzGerald. Died aged 42. Family originated in Dublin. 1871 census living 15 Haverstock St., St Pancras, London as a lodger aged 21 unmarried and a wine cellarman.   He was living with William CASEY and William's sister Mary. 1881 Luke was 30, unmarried living with William and Ellen (his sister) Casey at 18 Tenison St., Lambeth, Surrey .Dray driver for Guiness. Living 5 South Block, Peabody Buildings in 1892. Sarah: In service to Lord and Lady FitzGerald in Chelsea, London. She was widowed in 1892. 1891 census living 5 Riley Street, Chelsea with Luke and children but also with Charles Harlford and his wife and family!) Luke aged 40 cellarman, Sarah aged 39. 1901 census she was widowed (? as Lukes death cert was for 1902!). She was living with dau Ellen at 3 north Block, Peabody Buildings,Chelsea and a domestic cook. Sarah married again to Charles Halford. He lived with Ellen and William when he was young. He had 3 daughters of his own. 1911 census living 42 Sturgeon Road, Southwark, St Mary, South Newington, London. Charles James Halford  age 54 a kitchen porter at club, b Knightsbridge, London married 8 years to Sarah Halford age 59 b Clandown Somerset, Daughter Ellen Toole step daughter single, age 23 dressamaker born Westminster, London.

He lost his sight when he was old and died aged 87 on 02-Marc-1943 from senility accelerated by a fractured left femur sustained when he fell in a corridor of Park House Institution, Crumpsall on 22nd Feb 1943- accidental death died at 123 Crescent Road, Crumpshall in Manchester. Patients were moved there during the war 1939. Sarah was living in Walworth. 1911 census HALFORD SARAH F  b 1852  age 59 living in Southwark London with husband Charles James b 1857 age 54.

His father was also a Luke Toole, a coachman. The interesting thing I discovered though was that William and Ellen were married in a Wesleyan Chapel in London.

2. Ellen TOOLE b abt 1847, Dublin m William CASEY b abt 1849 Dublin, Ireland. 1871 living in Knightsbridge, Westminster, London as a kitchenmaid, aged 24 unmarried born Dublin, Ireland. part of the household of HRH Duke of Germon? St George  Hanover Square. William 1871 unmarried living 15 Haverstock St., St Pancras with sister Mary unmarried age 24 a dressmaker born ireland.  William was 23 and a wine cellarman. 1881 living 18, Tenison St., Lambeth, Surrey. His mother a widow living there aged 73 born Woolwich, Kent. Also James Casey, unmarried aged 27 born Dublin and also Luke Toole. Luke senior is listed as still alive on Ellen and William's marriage certificate in 1873. They were married in a Wesleyan Chapel in London. Ellen was widow in 1901 census living with 3 daughters below at 43 Hargeon Road, Newington, London. Ellen was a dressmaker in stores.
