Robert ADGORE b. Combs, Suffolk, England occupation Husbandman, m. abt1589, Margaret ELAND, b. Cratfield, Suffolk. In his will he occupied a tenement with freehold lands called "Mounte" and a copyhold tenement called "Abres". Robert Adgore als Bull. Subsidy return for Comb 1524 gives Thomas Edgar and 1568 gives an Edmond Adgare als Bull - earlier relatives? A Margaret Edgar who died 1545 maybe wife of Thomas.A Richard Adgore, husbandman, died 1558 - he mentions only a son Christopher. see also notes under wife. Margaret: Ref Suffolk Landscape by N. Scarfe p 209: Edgar's farmhouse, Combs has been dismantled and removed to the East Anglian Rural Life museum in Stowmarket. It was owned by the Adgore Family in 1437 & a rebuilding of the house may have been the result of the new aquisition of holdings there of farmlands & house by John & Ascelina Adgor in 1342 and 1346.
