William may have been married before to a Mary ? in St Breock. This would mean that he is older than I had thought. This is tantalizing as the family peters out before the marriage to Elizabeth Trembath. This may be the William that paid the 2 shillings in St Breock

He sent (Mervyn Thomas ) a postcard in the 60s, of his cousins home Coldicutt Villas in White Rock, BC Canada. I searched White Rock for Coldicutt and found a Thomas Davis Coldicutt (1879-1970) who came to Canada from Birmingham. Am trying to link our two lines together.White Rock Coldicutt Ave. • Thomas Davis Coldicutt (1879-1970) came to Canada from Birmingham in 1900 to participate in the Klondike gold rush. He wound up staying in Victoria, where he was a ship's navigator till 1904, then moved to New Westminster. Four years later he moved again, to east Burnaby, where he is remembered by Coldicutt St. In 1909 and the following years, he was a councillor, getting into real estate in 1912. He donated 222 acres for Central Park, and secured the money to build Kingsway. In 1912 he bought a home in Crescent Beach; in 1932 he bought 500 acres, and built homes, a villa with lodges, a stable and tennis courts. These are today's Ocean Ridge townhouses. Samuel Herbert Coldicutt was born 1887 in Birmingham, England. He said his ancestry includes strains of Welsh and Danish through his mother, and Irish on his father's side.

Thomas Davis Coldicutt was born 1879, also in Birmingham, his middle name reflecting his mothers Welsh origin, and his first name for his father, an artist who died when the boys were very young. Tom, who was only thirteen at the time and attending St. Paul's public school in Wormstone Lane, then began working for a wage. During a recent interview in his Vancouver home he recalled walking three miles each way to and from a Birmingham gun factory and earning three shilling a week.
