Descendants of Andreas Friedrich Strauss
Welcome to my Strauss family web site! I have been researching this family for
some years, starting with a family photo album that was my great grandmothers
and just trying to identify the people in the photos, and then trying to find
out about these individuals and their lives. With the advent of the internet it
has been easier to track down more historical information that has been locked
away in various archives, I have collected much information over the years so I
have decided to put the families story down and publish this web site so that
others interested in this history may find out something of the lives of these
early Australian pioneers. I would like to thank all those people who I have
spoken and have given me information to assist me in this project. My aim with
this project is to write a brief summary of the lives of the individual family
members where possible, there are bound to be errors and omissions so I welcome any comments on any part of this history so I can make corrections.
Most of the information I have collected is from the branch of Andreas second
son, Carl Wilhelm my great great grandfather, but if anyone can give me
any information on other branches I will include it on the site. Also I have included as many pictures of our early ancestors as I could unfortunately some of them are of poor quality so if anyone has pictures of relevance I would love to see them.
On this site I am only including the first three generations,
however if you are looking for family information to the present day write or
email me and I can send you the information that I have which in some cases goes
to seven generations.
I am currently rebuilding this website so there will be
information added on an ongoing bases. I hope you enjoy the information I present here.
