  • The Witnesses in Sackcloth was intended to be the first book in a series of three. The second book, on the life of Claude Brousson is advertised in the front of this book. The third, The Escape of Peter de la Mare, was never published, although a manuscript was lodged with the Library of the French Hospital in London. The Hospitals library has since amalgamated with that of the Huguenot Society of London and the combined library is now looked after by University College of London.
