Springfield Park was bought in 1838 consisting of the House and 99 acres.
Two new wings were added to the House and by 1855 the asylum was capable of accomodating 430 male and 534 female patients.

Responsibility for the Asylum has moved between Surrey and Middlesex County Councils. The Asylum was demolished 24th May 1849.

Eulalie Pearson was transferred from Peckham House to the County Asylum along with eleven other females.
